Murali Jasti graduated from Trinity University in 2001 with an undergraduate degree in political science and business administration. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School and began working for the Wisconsin State Public Defender until he began his partnership with Attorney Payal Khandhar in 2016. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, President of the Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and a member of the James Doyle American Inns of Court.
