-Speaker Biographies-

Eileen Fredericks is a staff attorney for the Wisconsin State Public Defender (WSPD).  She works in the Madison trial office in the juvenile unit.  In addition, she is the Juvenile Practice Group Coordinator for the WSPD.  In this position, she helps with trainings related to juvenile law and is available as a resource to all WSPD attorneys taking juvenile cases around the state.  Eileen has previously worked in the WSPD’s Milwaukee Juvenile/Mental Health and Kenosha offices. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.A. in Government and International Studies with a concentration in Public Policy. She went to the University of Wisconsin Law School hoping to become a lawyer for children and teens. While attending law school, Eileen also earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work in order to better understand the needs and struggles of many of the people she represents, and to learn how to better assist people in coping with life’s troubles. She is thrilled to be doing the work she always wanted to do with so many great people at the WSPD.
